Product detailed description

Damascus carving knife Böker Olive

Damascus steel carving knife with a blade length of 22,9 cm. Designed for professional chefs and demanding amateur cooks. Its noticeable sharpness when cutting is breathtaking and makes cooking an experience.

It doesn't matter whether you will be cutting raw or cooked meat - carving knives are great for cutting any ham, turkey or roast duck thanks to their long and slim blade. The long blade gives you better control every time you cut. You don't need any talent for flawless slices, but a decent Böker carving knife.

The uniqueness of this knife is underlined by the combination of a traditional Japanese handle shape made of olive wood and extremely sharp Damascus blade. The extremely durable and hard core of the blade consists of japanese stainless steel VG-10, which is inserted between 37 layers of Damascus stainless steel. The combination of the Japanese type of handle with the sharpness of VG10 steel will not only bring a lot of new experiences to your kitchen, but also save you a lot of time.

The secret of unusual sharpness of this knife lies in the material and its processing. In direct cooking performance comparison with a product made by an established Solingen kitchen knife manufacturer in accordance with DIN EN ISO 8442-5, the kitchen knife line Boker Damascus Olive is literally a cut above. The representative DIN test showed that the cutting performance of Boker Damascus Olive knives was 68% better than that of the competitor's product. The knives also score points with their higher level of initial sharpness. Thus, constant sharpening is a thing of the past.

Maintenance and cleaning: every single knife deserves special care. Never wash Damascus steel knives in the dishwasher. Hand wash only and dry immediately. Don't forget to rub with oil occasionally. When the knife comes into contact with aggressive elements, spot corrosion could appear on the blade. In any case, the blade of the knife does not rust, but just the attached particles. Never use Japanese steel knives to cut hard and frozen foods. The blade could break, or some part could break off. Avoid any bending or impact of the blade.

Knife sharpening: we advise to use diamond or ceramic sharpening rod for regular maintenance of your VG-10 damascus knives. We also recommend using diamond sharpening stones or whetstones for sharpening. If you are not sure of your sharpening skills, you should definitely contact the professionals.
