Knives with Sandvik 14C28N steel. 14C28N is swedish stainless steel from Sandvik Materials Technology. Very high quality steel with a hardness of 58 - 62 HRC. The optimized composition of  elements creates a combination of desired properties such as excellent edge retention, high hardness and good corrosion resistance. To increase corrosion resistance, nitrogen (0.11%) is added to this steel. The 14C28N steel can be sharpened razor sharp and has very good edge retention. The stability of the edge in terms of micro breaking, bending or rolling of the edge is very good.

With a recommended hardness of up to 62 HRC, the 14C28N steel is ideal choice for knives with high demand on sharpness, edge resistance and corrosion resistance, such as outdoor and bushcraft knives, pocket knives, hunting and fishing knives, but also kitchen knives.

Steel composition: 0,62% carbon, 14% chromium, 0,6% manganese, 0,2% silicon, 0,11% nitrogen, 0,025% phosphorus, 0,01% sulfur.
