Upon receiving the Prandi Splitting Maul I found longitudinal cracks in a handle which is unacceptable QC issue. Grain orientation itself was fine.
Head is nicely polished.
Rubber/plastic collar (overstrike protector) simply wasn't a match for Bosnian hornbeam and beech. It gave up after only five logs. I took it off and stopped using the maul to avoid further handle damage. If this splitting maul was equipped with proper steel collar like an Ochsenkopf Big OX I would have rated it 4🌟 due to faulty handle.
