Flat Grind Knives
The flat grind is one of the most universal grinds. Knives with a flat grind are characterized by a blade that is evenly ground from the spine towards the edge and finished with a micro-bevel.
A major advantage of the flat grind is its very easy sharpening and, at the same time, excellent cutting properties. In most cases, flat grind knives are more resistant to rough handling than knives with a hollow grind. From practical experience, this grind is best suited for cutting work, slicing, and is also suitable for kitchen use. It is not suitable for heavy wood processing, such as batoning.
