Knives with CPM 154 Steel. CPM 154 steel is classified as a premium stainless steel and is essentially the powder-metallurgy version of the well-known 154CM steel. The abbreviation CPM (Crucible Particle Metallurgy) denotes a special manufacturing process. Instead of traditional casting, the steel is melted and atomized into a fine powder, which is then sintered (fused) under high pressure and temperature. CPM 154 steel is very tough, exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, and holds an edge for a long time.
