Knives S600 Steel
Knives with S600 Steel. Böhler S600 steel (formerly known as HS6-5-3-8) is an Austrian High-Speed Steel (HSS) manufactured by Böhler-Uddeholm. These steels were originally developed for cutting tools that must operate at extremely high temperatures (e.g., drills or milling cutters) while retaining their hardness.
S600 steel is used rarely in knives, but when it is, it provides top-tier edge retention and wear resistance.
