Combination stones
Combination sharpening stones are typically composed of two or more synthetic stones with different grits joined together. You can use one stone to intensively sharpen damaged blades, and then use the second stone to refine the edge finely, or a third stone to polish and smooth it further. The main drawback of these stones is their higher upfront cost. However, in the long run, they are more worthwhile in terms of efficiency, convenience, and finance.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Combination Stones
✔️ Cost-Effective: Often a higher value than buying individual stones separately.
✔️ Multiple Grits in One: Provides efficiency and convenience with several grits in a single stone.
➖️ Higher Initial Investment: Requires a higher initial investment compared to a single-grit stone.
How to Use a Combination Sharpening Stone
Start sharpening on the stone with the lower grit and then proceed to the stone with the higher grit. Sharpen the knife using smooth strokes against the edge (into the stone). After use, simply rinse the stone gently with water. Unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer, these stones are typically used for water sharpening.
