Straight carving chisels and gouges
Straight chisel and straight gouge is a basic tool used for woodcarving. Woodcarvers use this tool to carve simple and straightfoward shapes. If you decide to include the tool in your wood carving equipment, we recommend starting with straight chisel. Don't forget to equip yourself with a wood carving mallet. If you are just starting out with wood carving, we recommend choosing preferably the flat chisel profile 1. Other very practical profiles are the slightly hollow gouge profile 3, the hollow gouge profile 10, which can be used to create circular shapes and the chisel with a V profile 60°.
