Chisels and gouges for hand use only

Chisels in this category are designed for delicate work and detailing. Construction of the tool is not compatible with mallet (woodcarving hammer). In order to prolong tool´s lifetime, use only force of your own hands.
Those chisels can be straight, bent or spoon-shaped, each of which can have a different size and blade profile (sweep). The profile of the edge is usually flat, gouge or V-profile. The chisel is considered as an additional tool in woodcarving and is widely used also for linocuts. Used often in a relief wood carving, where work with detail and maneuvering with the tool in narrow and hard-to-reach places is required. This wood carving tool is often made with a pear-shaped handle.
